Book NowTandem Flights
If you’re unsure if paragliding is something you want to learn, why not come on a tandem flight? You will fly from one of South Wales’ many flying sites with the school’s Chief Flying Instructor. You’ll be guided through every step — and you may even get the chance to take the controls.
Flight duration: Not guaranteed, but we aim for 20+ minutes where conditions allow.
Pricing: Cost for a tandem flight is £153 (£33 of which is mandatory BHPA Day Membership)per flight.
Training
Elementary Pilot (EP)
Your first step into paragliding and required before Club Pilot (CP). Training begins with ground handling on flat ground, then progresses to gentle slopes (“hops”), and onwards to longer flights as confidence grows.
EP includes essential theory followed by a multiple-choice exam. Complete the exam and practical flights to progress to CP.

Book NowClub Pilot (CP)
After EP, CP prepares you to fly without an instructor present. You’ll develop deeper knowledge in meteorology, principles of flight, and air law (with an exam), plus advanced ground handling, stronger wind techniques and landing skills.

If you trained overseas, UK conditions can be very different — often stronger dynamic winds and smaller hills. We help bridge any skill gaps so you can fly safely and confidently in the UK.

Want to share the skies with friends and family? If you have 200+ hours logged, a pilot rating and have completed SIV, we can support training towards tandem (dual) pilot standards and the examination process.

EnquireAge & Participation Requirements
- Minimum age: 14 for solo training and tandem flights.
- Age 14–18: must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or responsible adult.
- Upper age limit: 70 unless specifically agreed with our instructors.
- Participants must be able to run short distances (up to ~30m) and walk uphill carrying equipment (approx. 15kg).
